These brushes are a good buy as long as you are not expecting a top shelf brand/performer. Its a nice set. The brushes are attractive in appearance and nicely finished, and they are well balanced in the hand. The range of sizes in the set is, at least based on my experience painting with them, close to optimal as I always seem to have a filbert that is just about the perfect size for what I am trying to render. The filaments are fairly soft, making these brushes well suited for use with watercolors and acrylics. Painting with Golden heavy body acrylics, I have found these brushes to hold paint well and lay it on the canvas smoothly and with the type of line sharpness characteristic of the filbert configuration. I have no complaints about these brushes and would buy this set again if in need of a set of filbert brushes.
